Art Walk

My first art walk. At the Art Walk The first thing I noticed as I walked through each gallery were the prices of the paintings!! They were outrageous! The gallery that stood out the most that night was at the dA Center. The theme was The New Traditionalists. It was the largest of the galleries I visited. The art to the left was the one that caught my eyes. It is a painting by Juan Thorpe ( I lost my notes and forgot the title, i will go on my follow up to get the title). It is an interesting painting. It is of two mechanical beast fighting. It catches my eyes because it the background is just a landscape and then you see two machines. It just catches you by surprise seeing a simple background then machines! While i was looking at the painting the bartender there called me and it was my old neighbor and he told me that Thorpe does a lot of mechanical paintings.

Another of my favorite of the night was from the Frame House. It is a picture of pomegranates. It is simple yet so well done. At first I asked myself what it was then i looked closer then realized it was pomegranates. The way the artist painting this made it look real. From the Color to the shading. The was the shading of this is fantastic.I think if the artist added the pomegranate seeds it would have made the painting more realistic.

My art walk experience was better than I expected. I was amazed by the many different styles of art i got to see and the wine! Plus the farmer's market was great!

Stay tuned for the follow up
